The New Forest Community Orchestra has been in existence since 2002. We are amateur musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds and span a variety of ages! We aim for a high standard; there is no entrance audition but would suggest Grade 5 standard as a minimum. We are currently especially aiming to recruit string, oboe and brass players. |

All Saints' Church, Milford-on-Sea28th April 2012 at 7.30pmTickets : £8 (Children & Students : £5)Overture to Barber of Seville (Rossini)Soirees Musciales (Rossini arr. Britten) Symphony No. 2 (Borodin) We play Rossini's famous "Barber of Seville Overture" followed by his "Soirees Musicales". These charming and tuneful miniatures were orchestrated by the young Benjamin Britten in 1936 and gave a foretaste of what a master of orchestration he was to become. We conclude with Borodin's Symphony No 2 in B Minor, generally reckoned to be his masterpiece. Images of All Saints' Church are from http://www.allsaintsmilford.co.uk/all-saints.html |
